KUALA LUPMUR,Aug 28 –The results of the “2020 Malaysia-China Anti-COVID-19 Positive Energy Short Essay Contest” was released. 116 excellent works conquered the judges with words and were shortlisted for the awards. With the most sincere heart, they wrote the country’s gratitude for fighting the epidemic together, releasing positive energy during the pandemic.
The “2020 Malaysia-China Anti-COVID-19 Positive Energy Short Essay Contest” held an online awards presentation ceremony today, and the winners of 116 masterpieces of the contest were announced.
Ren Chunya stood out with his work “War Song”, which was unanimously favored by the judges and won the grand prize. The winners of the two second prizes are Kan Sung Chin’s work “Together to Fight the Epidemic” and Yan Tao’s “Malaysia China to Fight the Epidemic”. The third prizes were Chung Mei Yun’s “The Epidemic Heart”, Tan Soo Kon’s “Seven Poems” and Chiew Mui Kheng’s ” Work together “.Besides, 10 excellent works were selected for the special award, and 100 excellent works were shortlisted for the winning prize.
This short essay competition, jointly organized by the Malaysian Chinese Culture and Art Association and the China Entrepreneurs Association in Malaysia, has received an enthusiastic response since it was opened to the public for submission on May 25 and received more than 500 entries. This event aims to spread the positive energy of the fight against the epidemic in Malaysia and China, and stimulate the people of the two countries to fight the new crown pneumonia epidemic with positive thinking.
After the submission deadline, the professional jury appointed by the working committee has been rigorously and conscientiously engaged in the review and evaluation in the past one and a half months and finally completed the review work and selected 116 excellent works. The judges of this event are Chiang Hee Tze, director of the Chinese group of Malaysian National News Agency(BERNAMA), secretary-general of the Malaysia-Chinese Culture and Arts Association Ch’ng Soo Chau, treasurer of the Malaysia-Chinese Culture and Arts Association Wong Kim Swee, senior lawyer Lee Sok Wah, and editor-in-chief of ” Malaysia-China Insight ” Cheng Khee Chien took office.
