JITRA, Sept 20 — A total of 200 communication towers will be built in Kedah soon to enhance the capacity of the telecommunications system in the state, said Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
He said the state government would try to apply to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to expedite the construction of the telecommunication towers as a stable Internet connection is very important.
“I have held a meeting with MCMC and was informed that they have allocations to build the towers,” he said when asked to comment on the alleged poor Internet access in some areas such as Bukit Selambau, Sik, Baling, and Padang Terap.
Muhammad Sanusi was speaking to reporters after presenting donations and inspecting the conditions of the Tahfiz Darul Ulum Ar-Rahimiyah Tahfizul Quran centre here which suffered minor damage to the building structure due to fire last Friday.
