ALOR SETAR, Oct 29 — Universiti Utara Malaysia’s (UUM) 33rd convocation, scheduled next month, has been cancelled because of the COVID-19. pandemic.
The university’s Academic Affairs Department, in a statement today, said the event was cancelled after taking into account the advice and recommendations by the National Security Council and the Health Ministry.
“The UUM management is concerned with the latest developments in the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, it is taking measures to control and prevent the spread, as well as emphasising implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures for the health and safety of UUM citizens,” it said.
Graduates are advised to surf the official website of the Department of Academic Affairs at www.hea.uum.edu.my starting Nov 5 for information on obtaining their respective transcripts and degrees.
