PETALING JAYA,Nov 10: Mohamed Azmin Ali has been appointed as Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) election director to lead the coalition’s preparations for the 15th general election.
PN secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin said the coalition wanted to strengthen its position as a party leading the government of the day, adding that its supreme council has agreed to form a state liaison body to coordinate activities at the state level.
“The PN chairman has appointed a chairman for the state liaison committee who will call for and chair all state liaison committee meetings.
“The PN youth wing led by Khairil Nizam Khirudin is also asked to increase activities at the grassroots level to tighten cooperation between party members.
“The supreme council believes these decisions will improve PN’s work at all stages and improve coordination among component parties,” he said in a statement today.
Azmin, the senior minister for economy, is also the PN information chief and member of the PPBM Supreme Council.
