PETALING JAYA, Dec 26 — The health ministry has reported 2,335 Covid-19 cases and 2 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 874 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 83,414.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the 2,335 new cases bring the total number of infections in the country to 103,900 cases.
There are 20,035 active cases with 108 patients being treated in intensive care and 50 requiring respiratory assistance.
The two deaths bring the toll to 451.
The deaths reported were two Malaysians, one aged 44 from Sandakan, suffering from obesity, and the other, aged 70, from Melaka, who was diabetic and had high blood pressure.
Of the new cases reported today, 308 were from lock-ups, immigration detention camps and prisons.
