PUTRAJAYA，Jan 4: The health ministry has reported 1,741 Covid-19 cases and 7 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,010 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 98,228.
In a press conference, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 120,818.
There are 22,089 active cases with 122 patients being treated in intensive care and 53 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the 7 deaths means the death toll is now 501.
