PETALING JAYA,Feb 5: SMK Sultan Idris Shah II in Gerik, Perak will be put under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) effective tomorrow following 24 positive Covid-19 cases recorded there so far.
Senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the EMCO will last until Feb 19.
“The EMCO will help the health ministry conduct targeted screenings at the school and control infections within the community,” he said in a statement today.
Aside from the school, two villages in Sarawak, Kampung Sebako 1 and 2, will also be placed under an EMCO tomorrow.
