KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 — The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA) will continue to monitor durian traders through a month-long operation, Ops Duri 2.0, conducted nationwide since last Feb 22.
Its deputy minister, Datuk Rosol Wahid said the operation would involve ensuring the durian traders use suitable weighing scales and that the machines have not expired.
He said the traders are also required to comply with the regulation on price tagging, with the name type of the durian and price clearly written.
They are subject to the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011 and also the Weights and Measures Act 1972, he said in a statement today.
He said as of last Feb 24, a total of 311 inspections had been conducted under Ops Duri 2.0, with 14 cases filed, involving compound of RM2,600.
