KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 —The Social Security Organisation (Socso), in collaboration with the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and the SME Association of Malaysia (SME Malaysia), is holding a two-day MYFuturejobs Career Carnival from today to help employers recruit suitable employees.
In a statement, Socso said the event is at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre here, from 9 am to 4 pm, and the carnival is open to the public, especially jobseekers, with strict compliance to the standard operating procedures (SOP).
According to the statement, a total of 64 members of FMM and SME Malaysia are participating in the carnival in which more than 3,000 job opportunities are being offered.
Socso urges interested jobseekers to register at http://careerfair.perkeso.gov.my as the number of entries to the carnival is limited according to the implementation of the SOPs.
It is also providing career counselling and guidance via the national employment service portal, MYFuturejobs during the carnival.
Meanwhile, Socso said employers from FMM and SME Malaysia can take advantage of its (Socso) employment incentives under the Employment Recruitment Incentives Programme (Penjana/Kerjaya) provided to employers for the recruitment of new employees.
According to Socso, the programme provides a subsidy to employers of up to RM36,000 for each new recruitment for a maximum period of six months.
“Besides that, every new employee is eligible to join a training programme that is fully covered for up to RM7,000 for a one-year training course.
“Employees are also eligible to receive a mobility assistance payment of RM500 or RM1,000,” according to the statement.
Socso said the incentive package was aimed at helping employers get skilled workers for their operations and at the same time to open up more employment opportunities for local workers thereby reducing the country’s unemployment rate.
