SABAK BERNAM, April 9 — Teachers who are at high risk will be included under the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme, said Deputy Education Minister Muslimin Yahya.
He said priority will be given to about 55,000 teachers classified as being at high risk and aged in the second phase, adding that the vaccination process for frontliners under the first phase had just been completed.
“Some of the teachers have already received their vaccine shots along with Senior Minister (Education), Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin, and we are now focusing on 55,000 teachers who are at high-risk before moving on to third and fourth phases,” he told a press conference after the Malaysia Prihatin Programme at Dewan Seri Bernam, Sungai Besar, here today.
Muslimin who is also Sungai Besar Member of Parliament, said the objective of the Malaysia Prihatin Programme was to make the community aware of the national immunisation programme as well as the initiatives and steps taken by the government to address the COVID-19 situation.
