KUALA TERENGGANU, June 7 — The Terengganu government has announced a one-off RM500 aid for farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen who tested positive for COVID-19.
State Agriculture, Food Industry, Plantation, Commodity and Rural Development Committee chairman Dr Azman Ibrahim said 60 farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen in the state had been confirmed positive for COVID-19 so far.
“This contribution is not big but is good news for them as it shows the concern of the state administration for those who have contributed their energy to ensure the supply of food items all this while.
“It is hoped that the aid will motivate the farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen to continue sowing good deeds and enliven the 2021 Terengganu Agriculture Year,” he said in a statement today.
The aid would be distributed as soon as possible and the department involved had compiled the data of those eligible for the aid, he added.
