KUANTAN, July 24 — The state government today offered to build the Pahang People’s House (RRP) for free to eight siblings who lost their parents to COVID-19 last week.
Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the RM65,000 house would be built at their late mother’s hometown in Felda Kota Gelanggi 2, Jerantut, near here.
“I am saddened and sympathetic to the fate of these eight siblings, the eldest Nazurah Nabilah Benyajeed is just 19 years old while her siblings are between four and 18, they are now staying with their aunt at a rented house in Rawang, Selangor.
“In order to see them stay in the same house with their aunt, the state government has made this offer and their aunt will be given the appropriate monthly allowance,” he said in a statement here today.
In addition, the Yayasan Pahang and the Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MUIP) will pay for the education of those who are still in school while the Social Welfare Department is ready to list them as monthly beneficiaries, he said.
Wan Rosdy said an officer had contacted Nazurah Nabilah and he hoped that the family would accept the offer.
The siblings’ father Benyajeed Bernie died on July 16 while their mother Noraini Ibrahim died two days later.
