KUANTAN, July 28 — With immediate effect, all durian traders and growers from outside Raub are required to undergo COVID-19 PCR screening tests at least three days before entering the district.
The Agriculture Department in a statement today said the screening tests results should be submitted to the authorities at the roadblocks in the Raub district as evidence.
“All holders of the Letter of Confirmation of Involvement in Supply Chain and Marketing Activities Related to Food Needs issued by the Malaysian Department of Agriculture must comply with the directive,” the statement said.
The Department said the ruling was made following instructions for the screening tests by the Raub District Council president via a letter on July 26 to the district agriculture officer, following an outbreak of the virus among durian traders and farmers in Raub.
The matter is also in line with the powers conferred on the Raub District Council based on Section 72 (1) (f) (i) of the Local Government Act 1976.
