KAMPAR, Aug 11 — Some tourism operators in Perak are still not ready to welcome tourists even though domestic tourism activities are allowed for fully vaccinated individuals in states under Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan.
State Housing, Local Government and Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi said the incomplete vaccination among their workers was one of the main factors that contributed to the matter.
“Therefore, I urge all parties involved, especially hotels and homestay operators, to ensure that they are fully prepared to reopen their premises to tourists,” she told reporters at the Community Vaccine Mobilisation (MOVAK) programme for the Tualang Sekah state constituency at Kampung Changkat Tin here today.
Nolee Ashilin, who is also Tualang Sekah state assemblyman, advised all tourists to adhere to the standard operating procedures so that the travel permission could be enjoyed for a long time.
“If there are cases or clusters that arise from this activity, it will definitely affect interdistrict travel permission for tourism purposes,” she said.
Meanwhile, Nolee Ashilin said a total of 1,200 residents in Tualang Sekah would receive their COVID-19 vaccinations in the two-day MOVAK programme which was organised to ramp up the vaccination rate especially in rural areas.
