BATU PAHAT, Oct 22  — The Kolej Komuniti@Parit Sulong Satellite Campus at Taman Industri D’Cabin Medan Niaga Seri Sulong, Parit Sulong, near here, offers continuous reskilling and upskilling trainings for the people in the area.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said the satellite campus was one of the initiatives of the Polytechnic and Community College Education Department (JPPKK) under the ministry.

She said the initiative also supported Guiding Principle 6: Learning Society which is one of the strategic core guidelines of the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030.

“It aims to cultivate a culture of knowledge among the community to ensure that Malaysia continues to develop sustainably in line with a fair, equitable and inclusive economic distribution at all levels of society.

“In addition, it also supports the aspirations of Lifelong Learning enshrined in the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015-2025 (Higher Education) via Leap 3: Appreciating Lifelong Learning,” she said in a statement today.

Noraini, who is also Parit Sulong MP, said the satellite campus offered various short courses in business and entrepreneurship; sewing and clothing; computer and information technology; as well as catering and food services.

The target participants of these short courses are the local community from the B40 household group, people with disabilities, single mothers, senior citizens and youths, she said.

“In addition, Kolej Komuniti@Parit Sulong Satellite Campus acts as the official platform to disseminate information on full-time study programmes, lifelong learning and entrepreneurship knowledge conducted by community colleges to the community in Parit Sulong,” she said.
