Giant panda twins “You You” and “Jiu Jiu,” born in Spain’s Madrid Zoo Aquarium, made their public debut in Madrid on March 21. Queen Sofia of Spain, Chinese Ambassador to Spain Wu Haitao, Madrid Mayor Jose Luis Almeida, and Madrid’s Regional President Isabel Diaz Ayuso attended the event. The first public appearance of the pandas coincided with the opening ceremony of the zoo’s 50th founding anniversary. The twins, born last September, are now 6 months old and set to be the zoo’s main attraction.
