KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 — The Human Resources Ministry (KSM) has set up a Special One-Stop Centre (OSC) which started operating on April 18 to expedite the approval process for foreign workers’ applications in the country.
In a statement today, the ministry said the establishment of the Special OSC, done after obtaining the approval of the Cabinet on April 13, will help increase the daily processing capacity and extend the time of operations.
“The ministry is committed to increasing its daily operating capacity to expedite the foreign worker quota approval process.
“This includes increasing working hours until Saturday and Sunday to ensure the industries urgent need for foreign manpower can be met in quick time,” the statement said.
The ministry also reminded all employers to submit complete online applications attached with all relevant documents.
It said applications previously rejected can be resubmitted for due consideration.
Prior to this, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan said that a total of 179,451 applications for foreign workers were being processed and approved within six weeks.
