RAUB, May 13 — The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today attended the Raub district Aidilfitri event at Universiti Teknologi MARA (MARA) branch campus here.
His Majesty arrived at 2.30 pm, accompanied by the Acting Sultan of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah.
Also present were UiTM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Roziah Mohd Janor, Raub district officer Datuk Mohammad Shahid Ismail and Pahang police chief Datuk Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf.
At the event, His Majesty was presented with a dance and singing performance by students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Gali.
Al-Sultan Abdullah proceeded to the stalls to try various dishes prepared by the personnel and expressed his thanks to them for preparing the food.
He spent about two hours getting acquainted with people from all walks of life and consented to their selfie requests.
The event that was jointly hosted by the government departments and agencies in the Raub district was attended by about 5,000 guests comprising civil servants and UiTM students, with 37 stalls providing various dishes.
The participating agencies included the Islamic Religious Office, Malaysian Civil Defence Force, Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) and Raub District Council, among others.
