KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 — The Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-tourism Expo (MAHA) 2022, to be held from Aug 4 to 14, is expected to attract 100,000 visitors every day, said Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee.
He said various interesting programmes had been planned to attract more people to the event, which was not held for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Movement Control Order (MCO).
“MAHA 2022 is an exposition that will showcase the latest achievements in the country and world’s agro-food industry sector and for this year, we expect more than 100,000 visitors a day.
“Various events will be held such as exhibitions, and ‘business matching’ will be held,” he told a press conference after the ‘Flag Off MRT Train MAHA 2022’ programme here today.
Ronald said various committees had been formed to ensure success of MAHA 2022, to be held at the Malaysia Serdang Agricultural Expo Park (MAEPS), Selangor.
He said there would be a total of 1,500 exhibition and sales booths involving the participation of government departments and agencies, private companies and corporate bodies, as well as popular food vendors.
So MAHA 2022 provides an opportunity to see the various achievements in the agriculture and agro-food industry sectors, he added.
Meanwhile, Ronald said the government is continuously working to ensure continuity of the food supply chain in the country.
