SEREMBAN, Dec 18 — The survey and visual inspection carried out by the Works Department (JKR) found that the landslide area in Kuala Pilah involves the route FT 1275 Section 2.7 Jalan Felda Kepis stretching 30 metres long with an estimated depth of 10 metres of rubble.

Following this, Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the route was completely closed at the junction from Juasseh, Senaling and the junction to Perkampungan Felda Kepis.

“Survey works and site investigation will be carried out soon. While the design work and instructions to the contractor will be issued by the end of this year at the latest,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Nanta and the relevant agencies conducted a survey in the area as well as several other locations affected by the landslide this morning.

He said construction works which will begin in early Jan 2023  is expected to be completed in June 2023.

The construction of a detour route using gravel pavement in Felda Kepis will start tomorrow as an alternative road for nearby residents to use.

“All officials involved were reminded to help speed up road repair efforts for the sake of the people,” he added.
