Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has urged those who have been duped by scammers into making financial transactions to call the 997 hotline so that authorities could take the necessary action.
The IGP said the hotline, managed by the National Scam Response Centre, consists of various agencies including the police, aims to help victims of scams, adding that they will request for the operational time from 8am to 8pm currently, to be extended to 24 hours.
