The Tourism Recovery Plan 2022, which was launched in May last year, aims to increase the mobility of Malaysians to travel and spend through various land, air and accommodation discounts.

Khairul Firdaus said the ministry through Tourism Malaysia this year will continue to step up the promotion of domestic tourism including by selling packages directly to consumers by holding Jom Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Roadshow, Tourism Malaysia Travel Fair and MATTA Fair.

“I believe activities such as glamping, agro tourism, bird watching, star gazing, homestay, cycling as well as historical & heritage trails, are among those that can be explored to strengthen the growing ecotourism sector.

“The fact is, more creative package offerings need to take into account the added value that will be enjoyed by tourists. I am sure, there are still many more locations and tourism products that can be highlighted in this country,” he said.
