KUALA LUMPUR, April 12 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today breaks his fast with media practitioners and local artistes at Dewan Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTC), yesterday.
The Prime Minister who arrived at 6.47 pm wearing a light blue baju Melayu was accompanied by the Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil and his deputy, Teo Nie Ching.
Before breaking fast, Anwar also spent time to mingle with the guests of the event.
About 1,000 invitees comprising heads of media agencies, local and international journalists and cameramen as well as artistes and 30 orphans from Rumah Kasih Ibu, Ampang attended the ceremony.
Among those present were the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chief executive officer Roslan Ariffin, NSTP group managing editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman and Media Prima Berhad group chairman Datuk Seri Dr Syed Hussian Aljunid.
Malaysia China Insight (MCI) founder Datuk Keith Li Zhongping was also invited and presented Prime Minister MCI PM Visit China Special Edition Newspaper.
In addition, the local celebrities who attended included versatile artiste Ifa Raziah, actor and host Datuk AC Mizal as well as radio presenter and singer Dina Nadzir and film director Datuk Suhaimi Baba.
The Prime Minister also performed Maghrib prayers in congregation with the guests present at the event.
