ALOR SETAR, April 29 — Police arrested nine men and seized 135,760 litres of diesel, valued at RM291,884 and believed to be misappropriated, in a raid at the Bukit Kayu Hitam Industrial Area yesterday.
Secretary-general of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), Datuk Azman Mohd Yusof said those arrested in the 1 pm raid comprised three Malaysians and six Thai nationals, who are in their 20s and 50s.
“Also seized in the raid were seven lorries, with six of them bearing Thai registration number plates, 10 units of skid tanks, three units of oil pump machines, eight units of nozzle pumps, two units of cylinder tanks and cash of THB 192,902, he said in a statement today.
He said the case had been handed over to the Kedah KPDN office for further action.
