KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 — Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus) will launch an on-demand feeder bus proof-of-concept service, for the T789 LRT University-Universiti Malaya through Pantai Hillpark route from May 15 to Aug 14.
The service is a collaboration between Rapid Bus and Asia Mobiliti Technologies Sdn Bhd, the owner of Trek Rides, a local e-hailing app, Rapid Bus chief executive officer (CEO) Muhammad Yazurin Sallij said, adding that such an on-demand service would optimise existing resources.
“The bus set for the route can also operate on other routes with higher demand,” he said in a statement here today.
Meanwhile Asia Mobiliti Technologies Sdn Bhd founder and CEO M. Ramachandran said the service would offer guaranteed seats via the Trek Rides app.
“We are very honoured to be working with Rapid Bus to introduce this service to Rapid KL users and our goal is to provide the facilities and services that can fulfil the needs of urban commuters,” he said.
The service, priced at RM1 and payable via Touch n’Go and MyRapid Concession Cards, will operate daily from 6.30 am to 11.30 pm and will allow passengers to plan their journeys more efficiently by choosing their booking time easily. Passengers using the My50 Unlimited Travel Pass, MyRapid Group Pass and MyCity Pass can use the service by tapping their cards as usual without additional payment.
