KUALA LUMPUR, June 8 — Wanita UMNO has called on its members to be more focused on modernising their working methods as well as their social instruments to address challenges and restore the people’s support for the party.
Wanita UMNO chief Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said the wing would send some of its members for data analytics courses so that the data collected by the Jalinan Rakyat squad can be translated empirically.
“I have also discussed with MQA (Malaysian Qualifications Agency) to ensure that they are certified as data scientists through a recognised institution,” she said in her winding-up speech at the Wanita UMNO General Assembly 2023 here today.
She said this is in line with deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan’s speech yesterday, who was proud to see that Wanita UMNO had begun to improve their working methods to become more systematic and reliable.
Meanwhile, Puteri UMNO chief Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi urged all delegates and wing leadership to collaborate in digitalising their working methods in line with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 to face the upcoming state elections.
She said Puteri UMNO would also organise a retreat session to ensure unity of thought and action continues to flourish among its members.
“We need to work on unity which is the foundation of our politics today. Because of unity, we can stabilise the country’s political turmoil. Because of unity, the people are still living in harmony. Because of the unity, we are now part of the government,” she said.
UMNO Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh, in his winding-up speech, hoped that its members would not be apologetic in bringing the voice of the grassroots.
He said they should feel proud to raise the issues and problems that plague the party’s grassroots.
“We mean it when we say we love the party. So don’t stop us from speaking up. We speak up because we love the party.
“The truth is bitter sometimes, but what is bitter can be medicine. We love UMNO, and for that, we only tell the truth,” he said to a loud cheer from the delegates.
