KUALA LUMPUR 24th July (NST) : Jasmine Loo Ai Swan, former 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) general-counsel, is still under police investigations for alleged criminal breach of trust (CBT).
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said they were still probing Loo, who had returned to Malaysia on June 7, after years of being on the run for her alleged involvement in the 1MDB fund scandal.
“We are still investigating, still taking statements,” he said, declining to reveal more.
Loo is expected to be also handed over to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to be further investigated.
On July 13, Loo’s lawyers, Amer Hamzah and Edmund Bon Tai Soon, said their client would give her full cooperation to expedite investigations into the misappropriation of millions of funds belonging to 1MDB.
They had said Loo will reveal the facts and circumstances surrounding her years away from Malaysia “when appropriate”.
