BEIJING, Oct 18 — China has announced a new action plan in support of high-quality joint cooperation of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Chinese President Xi Jinping said the action plan included building a multidimensional Belt and Road connectivity network, supporting an open world economy, promoting both signature projects and “small yet smart” livelihood programs as well as promoting green development.
Xi said China also will continue advancing scientific and technological innovation, support people-to-people exchanges and promote integrity-based Belt and Road cooperation.
“China will work with its BRI partner countries to strengthen the building of multilateral cooperation platforms covering energy, taxation, finance, green development, disaster reduction, anti-corruption, think tank, media, culture and other fields,” he said in his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation here Wednesday.
Representatives from 140 countries and 30 global organisations are attending the forum which marks the 10th anniversary of the initiative.
He added that the country will deepen international cooperation on the BRI, and welcome new development of higher quality and higher standards under the joint efforts of the initiative.
Xi said China also will promote the modernisation of all countries in the world, build an open, inclusive, interconnected and common development world, and jointly promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
