SHANGHAI, Nov 6 — The Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (MATRADE) aims to create more export opportunities in China by coordinating the participation of 10 local companies in various sectors at the sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE).
Its trade commissioner Damian Santosh Samson said the agency is optimistic the event, held here from yesterday till Nov 10, could help enhance the visibility of Malaysian products and services in the international market, particularly China.
“China has been a very important import market for Malaysia and the CIIE is a fair specifically for import.
“As we are in the post-pandemic era, we now see the economy starting to pick up again and we want the Malaysian companies to take the opportunity with the increased buying trend in China,” he told Bernama here today.
Among the companies participating in the expo are Soon Soon Oilmills Sdn Bhd, Inmagine Innovation Sdn Bhd, Optimal Nutrition Sdn Bhd, and Fuciphagus Agritech Sdn Bhd.
CIIE is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and organised by the China International Import Expo Bureau and National Exhibition and Convention Centre (Shanghai).
This year’s edition which is held at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre has attracted participants and guests from 154 countries, regions and international organisations.
Over 3,400 exhibitors and nearly 410,000 professional visitors have registered for the event, representing a full recovery to pre-pandemic levels.
