ISKANDAR PUTERI, Nov 23 — The Johor government today announced a special financial assistance of two months’ salary for civil servants in the state.

Menter Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, when tabling the 2024 Johor Budget, said the special assistance will also be given to federal civil servants whose salaries are paid by the state government.

“The 2024 Johor Budget is a surplus budget, indicating that the state government’s revenue collection has reached its target. Therefore, in addition to helping the people, we would like to show our appreciation to civil servants.

“In recognition of their performance, I am pleased to announce the provision of a special financial assistance of two months’ salary for them,” he said at the state legislative assembly at Bangunan Sultan Ismail, Kota Iskandar here.

Onn Hafiz hoped that the special assistance would serve as a catalyst for motivation and boost the spirit of civil servants in the state.

“My hope is that all civil servants in this state will continue to work hard to provide the best service for the people of Johor,” he said.

Earlier, Onn Hafiz expressed his gratitude to the federal government and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the RM4.7 billion allocation for Johor’s development expenditures in the Fourth Rolling Plan (2024) of the 12th Malaysia Plan.

He said the allocation would be used for the implementation of various projects in the state, including 142 new projects.

The projects include the construction of Hospital Sultanah Aminah 2 (HSA2) in Johor Bahru, widening of the North-South Expressway from four to six lanes from Sedenak to Simpang Renggam as well as the construction of the USIM Teaching Hospital Complex in Kota Tinggi.
