NEW DELHI, Jan 23 – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday evening announced a scheme to install rooftop solar panels in 10 million households across the country.
The scheme is aimed at providing solar power to households in India.
“Today, on the auspicious occasion of the consecration of life in Ayodhya, my resolve has been further strengthened that the people of India should have their own solar rooftop system on the roof of their houses,” Modi said.
Modi said the scheme would not only reduce the electricity bill of the poor and middle class, but would also make India self-reliant in the energy sector
