KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 – The 2nd China-Malaysia Science and Technology Innovation Summit 2024, here on Thursday saw the formalisation of three partnerships between Malaysian and Chinese businesses.
Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang emphasised that these collaborations are aimed at fostering sustainable economic growth and promote innovation and technological advancement between the two nations.
“I am happy to witness the launch of the Malaysia-China Technology Innovation Industry Alliance(MCTIIA) between Shaanxi Provincial Association for Science and Technology, Beijing Zhongguancun Science City, Iskandar Malaysia and TusStar Malaysia.
“And the formation of the China-Malaysia Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Digital economy between Guangxi Finance Vocational Technical School, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, Tus-Innovation Cross-border E-commerce Co. Ltd and TusStar Malaysia,” he said in his speech during the summit.
Chang said the third partnership involved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Musang Valley Plantation Sdn Bhd and Dongguan Musang Valley Industrial Holdings for the joint production and retailing of their Musang King products.
“The anticipated outcome is to contribute to sustainable development by promoting green technologies and practices, enabling businesses to gain increased market access, with enhanced regulatory cooperation and supportive structures,” he emphasised.
Chang expressed confidence that these collaborations will fuel innovation, offering Malaysian innovators greater opportunities for global collaboration in the realm of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI), and elevate the standard for economically-driven, mission-based research and development.
“We look forward to collaborating with more institutions, startups and companies to deliver solutions to fuel economic development and spur job creation, skills training and educational opportunities for future communities,” he said.
The two-day summit commenced yesterday, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia in 2024.
