IPOH, March 23 – Those born in 1964 can visit Zoo Taiping & Night Safari (ZTNS) for free marking the zoo’s 64th year of operation and as part of the celebration for Taiping town’s 150th anniversary.

In a statement, Taiping Municipal Council president Khairul Amir Mohamad Zubir said in addition, every 150th visitor daily will receive free admission, starting from Jan 21 until Dec 31, 2024.,

He said founded in 1961, Zoo Taiping holds the distinction of being Malaysia’s oldest public zoo, overseen by the local authorities.

Initially spanning 24 acres, it has since expanded to cover 34 acres, showcasing a diverse collection of 1,500 animals representing 130 species.

By the mid-1990s, the zoo reoriented its objectives towards wildlife conservation, education, recreational activities and promoting tourism.
