BOAO (China), March 27 – China Media Group (CMG), China’s leading media outlet, has embarked on a journey towards merging artificial intelligence (AI) with media, marking a significant milestone in innovative content creation.

CMG also unveiled “Chinese Mythology”, the first multilingual micro-drama entirely produced by AI, representing a revolutionary shift in content creation, with AI handling every aspect of production, including art design, storyboards, video production, dubbing and soundtrack.

Furthermore, CMG said AI enabled the overcoming of language barriers for audiences – a previously unparalleled achievement in the industry.

The media outlet unveiled the first episode of micro-drama series “AI Reads Classics”, titled “Zhou Chu Eliminates Three Evils”, of which the production of the first episode was completed in just five days.

“That underscores the efficiency AI brings to the process, which would typically require three to four months without AI,” CMG said in a statement.

It added that CGTN presented “The Rebirth of the Young Hero Nezha”, an AI production that reinterprets ancient mythology using modern technology.

To address the risks and challenges posed by AI in the media industry, CMG said it has already developed and released the first set of regulations governing the use of artificial intelligence in Chinese media.

It added that these regulations encompassed crucial principles such as compliance with laws and regulations, maintaining direction, ensuring safety and controllability, safeguarding privacy, respecting intellectual property rights and promoting regulations.

CMG also noted that special emphasis was placed on ensuring the authenticity of news and accurately portraying historical events, characters and cultural nuances through AI productions.
