SHANGHAI, April 16 – A video clip showing German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s visit to Southwest China’s Chongqing was launched on TikTok account “Team Bundeskanzler” on Monday.
The video was shot on Sunday at German-invested Bosch Hydrogen Powertrain Systems (Chongqing) Co., where Scholz was having an in-person experience of assembling hydrogen power modules under the guidance of a technician.
With a smile, he gave a thumbs-up to the Chinese staff. Scholz also complimented the company’s technological progress and rapidity of factory construction.
The chancellor arrived in Chongqing Sunday morning to kick off his three-day official visit to China.
He is the first leader of Western powers to visit China this year, and the trip also marks his second visit to China after he took office.
On Tuesday, the German chancellor met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
