KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 – The government has no plan to rationalise the RON95 petrol subsidy at this point in time, says Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.
The Finance Minister II also said that the targeted subsidy policy was a carefully thought-out mechanism to cushion daily necessities from the impact of higher prices, protect those vulnerable from price hikes and keep profiteers at bay, Bernama reported.
He said this in his keynote address at Bank Negara Malaysia’s Sasana Symposium 2024 here on Wednesday (June 12).
