SEREMBAN, July 8 – The Negeri Sembilan government continues to intensify efforts to strengthen tourism programmes to attract more visitors and achieve the goal of getting eight million tourist arrivals this year.

State Tourism, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Nicole Tan Lee Koon said the effort includes implementing the Local Host Community programme to train locals in managing and promoting their surrounding tourism products.

The Negeri Sembilan Tourism Board (LPNS), she said, is also actively promoting various programmes, including sales promotions and exhibitions locally and internationally, Business to Business (B2B) sessions, collaboration with tourism industry players, and promotions through social media.

“All quarters should play their role to get more visitors to the state and there are many tourism products we have to offer them.

“In line with the 2026 Visit Negeri Sembilan Year (TMNS 2026), we will continue to enhance the development of tourism products in every district,” she told Bernama news agency.

She said LPNS, in collaboration with the state government departments and agencies, is also drawing up events for the Calendar of Events (COE)  such as the Ngoca Ball Festival and Trans Naning Ultra NS Challenge which will involve international participants.

Meanwhile, she said that based on a survey by the Department of Statistics Malaysia, Negeri Sembilan recorded 11.49 million domestic visitors in 2022 compared to 5.49 million visitors the previous year.

In a survey by Tourism Malaysia, she said 1.77 million tourists booked into hotels in the state between January and September last year.
