SINGAPORE, July 11 – The 25th Joint Meeting of the Malaysia-Singapore Business Council (MSBC) on Thursday discussed advancing mutual interests and exploring new opportunities through the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).

Co-chaired by YCH Group executive chairman Dr Robert Yap and Tan Sri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani N.Hassan Thani of Zaid Ibrahim & Co, the council also expressed support for the JS-SEZ and underscored its dedication to enhancing bilateral economic ties.

Yap said the JS-SEZ will not only strengthen collaboration and drive sustainable growth between Malaysia and Singapore, but that it will boost regional competitiveness, create high-quality jobs, and enhance innovation.

“By leveraging our combined strengths and fostering cross-border synergies, we will build a resilient economic landscape benefiting businesses and communities, paving the way for a prosperous and interconnected future,” he said in a statement following the meeting at the SBF Centre here.

Nik Norzrul Thani said MSBC reiterates its strong support for the JS-SEZ as a driver of economic development and regional cooperation.

Highlights of the discussions included strategic deliberations on promoting sustainable growth, harnessing technological advancements particularly in cross-border transactions to enhance business operations, and expanding market access for Malaysia and Singapore companies.
