KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 – The suspected shooter who fired multiple shots towards the stage, injuring former President Donald Trump during his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, has been killed.

“US Secret Service personnel neutralised the shooter, who is now deceased,” Chief of Communications for the US Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi said on X.

He said one spectator was killed, while another two were critically injured. 

The shooter had fired towards the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue, he added.

The incident is currently under investigation and the Secret Service has formally notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Guglielmi said the US Secret Service has quickly responded with protective measures and the former president is safe and being evaluated.

Anadolu Agency reported Trump appeared injured and seen bloodied on his right ear as he was being evacuated from the stage according to social media footage.
