JAKARTA, July 17 – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) arrived at Zayed International Airport of Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Tuesday (July 16), and was personally welcomed by his UAE counterpart Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ).
According to a statement received from his office in Jakarta, Jokowi landed in Abu Dhabi after an 8.5-hour flight.
Jokowi and MBZ is scheduled to hold bilateral meeting on Wednesday in Qasr Al Wathan, Abu Dhabi, to explore viable ways to intensify their countries’ relations, especially in terms of economic partnership.
“At the meeting, we will discuss, among other things, various efforts to increase economic cooperation and strategic investment,” Jokowi told the media prior to his departure to the UAE at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base of Jakarta.
The other topic to be discussed during the planned meeting is Indonesia’s Nusantara Capital City (IKN), which is currently under construction in East Kalimantan Province.
