JEDDAH, July 29 – Amal by Malaysia Airlines, a Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) unit offering Haj and Umrah flight services, aims to increase its revenue contribution to the group to between 7.5 per cent and eight per cent in the next three to five years.

Chief operating officer Muhammad Najmi Mansor said this increase would be supported by the recovery of the Haj and Umrah market, high demand to perform Umrah, active capacity building by the Saudi government, usage of e-Visa for Tourist, as well as further expansion of the Amal network.

He said that based on the performance for 2023 and first half of 2024, Amal’s revenue contribution to the group stood at five per cent.

For the previous years, its revenue contribution were around three per cent to four per cent as the Haj and Umrah market was still in the recovery process post-COVID-19, he said.

“This year we are back to achieving a five per cent revenue contribution (which was recorded) in 2019 due to market recovery.

“For the long term, we aim to increase revenue contribution to the group to between 7.5 per cent and 8.0 per cent within the next three to five years,” he told reporters during a media familiarisation programme recently.
