MOSCOW, July 30 – German flag carrier Lufthansa suspended flights to the Lebanese capital of Beirut through July 30 starting Monday amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, reported Sputnik.

“Due to the current developments in the Middle East, the airlines of the Lufthansa Group have decided to suspend their flights to Beirut up to and including July 30,” The National newspaper quoted the company’s statement as saying.

Lufthansa said it had suspended five routes to and from Beirut out of an abundance of caution.
