NUSANTARA, East Kalimantan, Aug 13 – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that the number of investments in the new capital city (IKN) Nusantara had reached Rp56.2 trillion (US$3.4 billion), excluding the state budget utilized.

“As of today, I informed that the investment received for IKN is Rp56.2 trillion,” he remarked at the first plenary cabinet meeting at IKN Nusantara on Monday.

He explained that 55 investors had conducted the groundbreaking at IKN, including six investors from the education sector, three investors from the health sectors, and 10 investors from the retail and logistics sectors.

Moreover, he noted that groundbreaking had been carried out for eight hotels. Furthermore, two investors in the energy and transportation sector, 14 investors from the offices and banking industries, nine investors in the housing and green areas, and three investors from the media and technology industries also carried out groundbreaking at IKN.

“IKN will also adhere to the green economy and digital economy for the governance. I emphasize the green economy, digital economy, data center, and financial center,” the president noted.
