KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 – The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) is targeting potential investments of RM34 million from its Franchise Special Business Mission to London, the United Kingdom (UK) on Aug 13-17.
KUSKOP said in a statement that the mission was joined by eight Malaysian franchise entrepreneurs, namely UCMAS, Little Caliph, Marrybrown, Global Art, CIC Where Leaders Are Born, Q-Dees, Beard Brothers, and EL&N.
“We hope that with this strategic collaboration, Malaysian franchise entrepreneurs will be able to take advantage of the opportunities available to grow further globally,” said KUSKOP secretary-general Datuk Seri Suriani Ahmad.
Suriani said the visit aimed to open up space for deeper discussion between Malaysian and UK entrepreneurs and find ways to take advantage of the potential and market opportunities in both countries.
During the visit, the mission met with people from the industry, the Malaysian diaspora and Malaysian embassy representatives in London. It made a working visit to Battersea, the franchise company Café EL&N owned by a UK company that has an EL&N branch in Malaysia and Meet Bros Steakhouse, which is a Malaysian franchise enterprise that has been operating in the UK.
