KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 – In conjunction with the 67th National Day on Saturday (Aug 31), His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, reminisced about a National Day celebration 38 years ago when his late father, then Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Iskandar Ismail, graced the event at Dataran Merdeka.
Sultan Ibrahim shared a @bernamaofficial post on his official Facebook page, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, featuring two photos of his late father riding a motorcycle belonging to one of the participants during the celebration.

According to the @bernamaofficial post, the late Sultan Iskandar, renowned for his passion for high-powered motorcycles, left spectators in awe as he stepped off the viewing dais and mounted a Kawasaki motorbike.
“Thirty-eight years ago, in 1986, an unforgettable moment captivated millions of viewers during the National Day parade at Dataran Merdeka, both on-site and watching TV.
“Riding alongside the parade, His Majesty, father of the current King of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim, made history and won the hearts of the nation. #MalaysiaMemories,” read the post.
Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, graced the 2024 National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya on Saturday (Aug 31).
