NEW YORK, Sept 25 – The 79th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly kicked off at the UN headquarters in New York on Tuesday, with the participation of President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported.

The session, entitled: “Leaving No One Behind: Acting Together for the Advancement of Peace, Sustainable Development and Human Dignity for Present and Future Generations”, pursuant to resolution 58/126, addresses a number of issues, most notably international peace and security, sustainable development and technology.

The 79th session of the General Assembly, which opened on Tuesday will continue through Saturday, Sept 28  and conclude on Monday,  Sept 30, with the participation of heads of states and governments of member states of the UN.
