DA NANG, Sept 25 – Flight MH748 of Malaysia Airlines, carrying 160 passengers from Kuala Lumpur, landed at Da Nang International Airport on Tuesday, marking its inaugural flight on the Kuala Lumpur – Da Nang route.
The new route, operating with a frequency of seven flights per week, will raise the total number of flights between Vietnam’s central city of Da Nang and Malaysia’s capital of Kuala Lumpur, to 28 per week, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.
Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism, said that Malaysia ranks in the top 10 sources of international travellers to Da Nang.
He noted that last month, Da Nang city’s leaders made a working trip to Malaysia and met with Malaysia Airlines to promote the central city’s tourism and the Kula Lumpur-Da Nang route.
Vuong added that the city’s tourism industry will continue to coordinate with Malaysia Airlines to organise Famtrip, Presstrip, and KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) delegations to experience Da Nang tourism and support communication activities to promote Vietnam’s central city to Malaysian tourists.
According to the official, with its extensive flight network across Asia, Europe, and Oceania, covering nearly 1,000 destinations in over 170 countries and territories, Malaysia Airlines is expected to serve as a bridge to help Da Nang expand its tourism market to attractive destinations worldwide.
