CAIRO, Oct. 17 – Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit strongly condemned on Wednesday the Israeli airstrike targeting the buildings of the Nabatieh Municipality in southern Lebanon, the AL said in a statement.

An Israeli warplane fired four air-to-ground missiles at the Nabatieh Municipality building and the building of the Union of Municipalities, killing six people, including the mayor, Ahmad Kahil, injuring 43 others and destroying the infrastructure earlier in the day.

“Israeli raids have been being conducted indiscriminately, targeting civilians and infrastructure, in an attempt to replicate the brutal Gaza scenario in Lebanon,” Aboul-Gheit said.

He added that Israel continues emptying northern Gaza of its population and killing civilians, sending a clear message that “the war will continue and not be eased.”
