KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) — Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has selected Kampung Tebat Kering in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, as his adopted village under the ‘One Leader, One Village Programme’, also known as Santuni MADANI.

Fahmi, who is also Lembah Pantai MP, pledged to address various aspects of the community’s needs in the village.

“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasised the importance of not just focusing on physical aspects, but also considering community issues, such as why many students do not pass the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exams or fail to show up for them, as well as unemployment issues.

“The PM has urged us to spend more time connecting with the ground realities. He does not want ministers or senior officials to be disconnected from the people’s problems,” he told reporters after the Deepavali Fiesta at IWK Eco Park @ Pantai Dalam, also attended by Deputy Minister of National Unity K. Saraswathy Sunday night.

On May 8, Fahmi told a press conference that all ministers were encouraged to adopt a village as part of the Prime Minister’s initiative for every leader in the country to nurture a community.
