KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23 – The South Korea-Malaysia Friendship Concert, held on Tuesday, celebrated the growing ties between South Korea and Malaysia as both nations anticipate the elevation of their relations to a strategic partnership this year.

Hosted by the South Korean embassy here, the concert brought together world-renowned Korean soprano Sumi Jo, Malaysia’s renowned singer, Anuar Zain, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Malaysia, symbolising the cultural exchange and collaboration that form the foundation of the enhanced partnership.

South Korean ambassador to Malaysia, Yeo Seung Bae, said 2024 has marked a new momentum in bilateral relations between the two countries.

“With high-level visits planned, our exchanges have become more dynamic than ever.

“Bilateral trade has exceeded US$25 billion for three consecutive years, and this concert introduces K-classical music to the Malaysian public, who have long embraced K-pop and K-drama. We are excited to strengthen our strategic cooperation further.”
